Clayton Homes has been in business for over 50 years and remains the leading home manufacturer in the US. Acquired in 2003 by Warren Buffett’s Berkshire-Hathaway, Clayton designs and creates houses that make the dream of home ownership a reality for all kinds of families from every kind of background. On top of it all, they are one of the biggest employers in East Tennessee and continue to grow their brand through home centers across the country.
Needless to say, Draft was humbled to get a call back in 2012 to help them create a broadcast commercial for their “Double Your Tax Refund” campaign. Draft wrote, directed, produced, and delivered that very first spot only a month later and kicked off a relationship that continues today – almost five years later.
Since that original commercial (see below), Draft has been able to collaborate with Clayton Homes on a multitude of branding projects.
What’s in a name? For our second project, we dug at the heart of who Clayton really is – from the manufacturing line to the end consumer – and realized a common trait for both the individuals making the homes and the folks buying them: hard work.
They are driven to achieve the American Dream of home ownership for their family. And Clayton is designing homes to help them do just that.
